Frequently Asked Questions
What makes a non-marking 18x7-8 tyre different from the black version?
Same size, same rim, same load ratings — the difference is the compound. The non-marking version uses a light-grey rubber that leaves no black scuff marks on polished concrete, which is why food, pharmaceutical, electronics and retail warehouses specify it. The trade-off is faster wear than black rubber, and we will tell you honestly if your duty cycle can live with that.
Which forklifts can use a non-marking 18x7-8 tire?
Any truck that takes a standard 18x7-8 — 1.5 to 2.5 tonne counterbalance forklifts from Toyota, Hyster, Linde, Komatsu, Mitsubishi and most Chinese brands. Switching from black to non-marking changes nothing mechanically; the sidewall size is the only check you need.
Do non-marking solid tyres wear faster?
They do, usually noticeably — the light-grey compound trades abrasion resistance for the clean-floor property. On light indoor duty the difference is modest; on heavy loading-dock cycles it is real. If your trucks split time between indoors and a rough yard, a pragmatic answer is non-marking on the indoor trucks and black on the yard trucks.
Where are non-marking tyres actually required?
Anywhere floor appearance or hygiene is part of the business — food and beverage plants, pharmaceutical clean areas, electronics assembly, retail back-of-house, exhibition halls. Some auditors and brand standards make non-marking an explicit requirement, so check your site's own rules before defaulting to black.
Can we order non-marking 18x7-8 tyres with our own brand?
Yes — OEM sidewall markings and packaging work the same for non-marking as for black. Dealers serving clean-floor industries often keep both lines under their own label; ask the sales team about minimum quantities per version.
What load can a non-marking 18x7-8 carry?
Identical to the standard version — see the load chart on this page. The compound affects wear and marking, not rated capacity, so you can size the tyre the same way regardless of colour.
Can we start with a trial order?
That is the usual route for non-marking — run a couple of pallets on your cleanest-floor customer and watch the wear before stocking the size. Trial quantities ship as mixed pallets, and the specification carries over to container volume without re-approval.
What should we tell you when requesting a quotation?
Quantity, destination port, and how the trucks actually work — floor type, load weights, hours per day. Non-marking suits some duty cycles much better than others, so the more you tell us about the site, the more useful our compound recommendation is.
