Which trucks use 18x6x12 press-on tyres?
18x6x12 is a cushion size for electric counterbalance forklifts in the 2–2.5 tonne class working indoors. Confirm by reading the size off the old tyre's sidewall — press-on sizes read as diameter x width x band diameter, so 18x6x12 tells you all three numbers at once.
How is a press-on tyre mounted?
Bonded onto a steel band and pressed onto the wheel hub hydraulically — no rim, no air, no locking rings. If your workshop lacks a press, order the tyres pre-mounted on wheels and the swap becomes a bolt-on job. We quote both options.
Is a non-marking 18x6x12 available?
Yes — non-marking is one of the most requested compounds in cushion sizes, since these trucks spend their lives on polished indoor floors. Non-marking rubber wears faster than black; on indoor duty the trade is usually easy to justify.
When should a press-on tyre be replaced?
When rubber wear approaches the steel band — past that point traction and cushioning drop off sharply and the truck starts transmitting shock into its own drivetrain. Cuts, chunking or any sign of bonding separation mean immediate replacement, whatever the tread looks like.
